'RESURGENCE'

A concept by UNDICII in collaboration with Arnaud Liard.

They stood for hours scrutinising their surroundings, watching for peculiar noises, imagining the past life, awaiting for nature to reclaim its rights amidst the deserted concrete, discarded metal sheets and the forsaken asphalt.

It is in this unusual fashion, in the middle of several abandoned places in the vicinity of the capital (an old factory, a section of an unfinished motorway, etc) that the Parisian duo Undicii have imagined their new EP “Resurgence”.

Their compositions are full of poetry where analog synths, dreamlike atmospheres, syncopated beats and jazzy incursions meet.

However, both musicians wanted to go further. In order to do so, they had the idea of transcribing, through a surprising art piece, this life that resurfaces from the concrete. They joined forces with visual artist Arnaud Liard, who created with them six unique works of art composed of a superposition of materials in relief, and a vinyl engraved on one side, and painted on the other. Each vinyl corresponds to one of the six tracks of the album.

Presented in a custom-made wooden frame, the pieces form a unique creation blending music and painting that emerge together like blades of grass from a crack in the concrete.

These works are accompanied by a limited edition of 40 cassettes made by Dustlab, which are on sale on Your Master's Voice Records’ website.
